A Dream Job

How would you like to have this job?

The particulars are these: Full time pay, but part time work and you are not even required to show up for much of that part time bit; you get to set your own pay; you cannot be fired until your contract runs out and even then, since you held the job, that contract has an excellent chance of being renewed indefinitely; you can lie about your qualifications and what you would accomplish during your tenure and nobody will hold you accountable for your lies; you will be able to foist the the most onerous parts of your job onto others; you will have a virtually unlimited expense account; your insurance will be the best, even better than most of the people you work for could obtain.
Sound good to you? You can have that job simply by getting elected to congress. Let’s take a look at those points.

Once elected you will have the privilege of having at approximately one half of each year as paid time off so you can campaign for re-election. You can even attend a few fund raisers to help out. If you listen to older and more experienced capital hill denizens, you can even figure out how to pocket some of that. Even during the time the congress is in session you will not be required to actually be on Capital Hill. Go to lunch, play golf or whatever rather than deal with the humdrum parts of the job like listening to what other are saying about the issues before your particular body instead of them listening to your much more cogent utterances.

Think you are not being paid enough for the job? Just vote for another pay raise for yourself. Get caught in a lie or other minor faux pas? Don’t worry, you cannot be fired unless you are proven guilty of actually committing a crime.

One of the big perks is not having to actually having to do the job your friends elected you to do. Want to avoid a controversy? Just fob of the onerous stuff on the regulatory agencies. Sure they violate the constitution, but that is just a few words on an old piece of paper that few pay any attention to anymore. So technically it makes you a law breaker, a criminal, but no one is going to say a word. If you ever do get round to passing a law that you would not like to follow, no problem. You just make it a law you are exempt from. It is done all of the time.

Get caught speeding or DUI or even assaulting another citizen while congress is in session? Again, no problem. You cannot be charged or arrested for such minor trivialities while the congress is in session and you are in D.C.

Would you like to see gay Paris or visit Rio during Carnival? Take an all expense paid “junket”. Your friends an neighbors will pay for it out of the taxes you forced on them. You may have to spend a few hours of your all expense paid vacation in meetings, but then there has to be some reason for that trip.
I guess we should let you in on the pay for this part time job. As of 2015, the base salary for all rank-and-file members of the U.S. House and Senate is $174,000 per year, plus benefits.  Now if you are lucky enough to voted in as a leader you salary goes up.

SENATE LEADERSHIP – Majority Party Leader – $193,400, Minority Party Leader – $193,400

HOUSE LEADERSHIP – Speaker of the House – $223,500, Majority Leader – $193,400, Minority Leader – $193,400

There are some popular, but false myths about congressional remuneration:
1.) They do indeed pay into social security.
2.) They must serve a minimum of three years to be eligible for their pensions and then it goes on a sliding scale determined by the number of years served. It is not an automatic 100% of their salaries at retirement.
3.) They don’t begin collecting until age 62 or 65.
4.) They do not necessarily vote for a pay increase every year. They haven’t done that since 2008. They do receive a “cost of living” increase on January 1 of each year. Some members do refuse this. Not many, but some.

Campaign to Kill Good

The Campaign to Kill Good

We have become a nation ruled by an oligarchy. Oligarchy is defined as “a political system governed by a few people”. Usually the rich. Now an oligarchy does not care very much for the common people. They do pay lip service to them. They continue to promise that group that they are the ones that will improve their lot. Any one opposing them is demeaned and slandered into oblivion, while they just keep promising the masses that they will improve their life if only they will wait just a little while longer while they, the elite rulers, solve just a couple more problems. The oligarchy makes use of the “big lie”.
The big lie was brought forcefully to the forefront of national politics by Hitler. He knew that any lie repeated often enough is taken for absolute truth and he gained total control of the government with this tactic.
Today we have a movement that is called liberal, but the proper term is progressive. These are two different views of how a government, our government, should work. The liberal works in small steps to advance their agenda. First they take over the education system starting with the colleges and universities. If they can control what the future teachers are taught they will control what the children are taught by those future teachers. Then they co-opt the mass media using these liberal educated student journalists so they are able to spread the word in any way they want. They can use the “big lie” much more effectively.
Enter Teddy Roosevelt, Woodrow Wilson, Barack Obama and today’s pretender to the throne, Hillary Clinton. Each were or are convinced they can rule because they have convinced the greater mass of people that individual liberty is a fallacy. They shout that this should never have been a republic, but rather a democracy. In a democracy the voice of the people are heard and that voice is personified in the person that collects the votes required to sit in the Oval office. That one person has a ‘mandate’, evidenced by the mere fact that he or she won the election, to speak for all the people. They have their pen and phone. Any separation of powers is nothing more than a hindrance to their governing.
Enter on to our stage one Hillary Clinton. A proven liar, who actually said that it was her “turn” to rule America. She of the “big lie”.
We cannot forget the other facet of today’s American political scene, the republican party. Supposedly the ‘loyal opposition’. They would much rather have a Clinton presidency that will continue to grant politicians surcease for their greed and power hungry appetites than support the person that won their party’s nomination. They have not so much as run one TV ad for ‘their’ nominee. Their fear of losing their gravy train and the power they wield in government is tantamount to treason. No, it does not meet the legal definition of that heinous crime, but it does meet the social definition. They apparently are so concerned about protecting their position that they would rather see this country go completely social democrat than defend the constitution and the republic.
This country led the world in military might, economic stability and social justice for over one hundred fifty years. Today we are a third world power militarily, the world banks are leaving the dollar behind as the benchmark and moving to the Chinese Yuan or Renminbi and social justice has been replaced with the devaluation of the Judeo-Christian ethic to the point that a person can now be sued into financial ruin for adhering to their Christian beliefs. Freedom OF religion has been replaced by the credo of freedom FROM religion.
This is the destruction of good in the name of greed and power.
It seems that we no longer have a two party system in this country. We have on party called Democrat that is focused on the destruction of the Constitution because it is “outdated” and no longer applies to modern society, though they have never satisfactorily explained how that is so, and another party called Republican that are anything but. They are perhaps even more greedy than their cohorts in the other side of the aisle.
There has to be a political party that honestly desires to return this country to the land of the free. Libertarians? Nope. They do indeed want a smaller government, but the government they want is isolationist in this world of global economy and ISIS. The government they want is so small as to be next door neighbors to anarchy. Greens? Nah. Too narrow in focus and they want many of the same things the liberals want just for different reasons. There are many neophytes out there struggling to find the alternative to the present major parties. I have looked at many and spoken to most of the leaders. None seem to measure up to the founders ideals. I still believe in those ideals.
The only one that comes close, in my humble opinion, is the Constitution Party. I will have more to say on them another time
That leaves the main question. How do we stop the destruction of good?

Conservative Dilemma

The Conservative Dilemma

Many years ago I was faced with a very real dilemma. This dilemma involved my personal and very closely held principles on the one hand and my moral obligations on the other. It was the first time I had ever faced such a situation. Normally these two were one and the same. Not this time.
You see I was at that age when young men face the call to go into the military. My personal principles said, and very strongly, that I should keep myself as safe as possible. I should not deliberately place myself in harms way. I was meant to live and live a happy healthy life with all of my faculties and limbs. Joining the military would put all of that at serious risk.
Countering that was the moral obligation to serve the nation that fostered that safety and the freedoms that country gave me just because I was lucky enough to be born in America. At that time I was only peripherally aware of the struggle that brought about that nation. I had been taught a very real history of this nation. I had learned of the founding fathers who had pledged their lives, fortunes and their “Sacred Honor” to bring it about. I knew that most had lost the first two while keeping their “Sacred Honor”. But all of that was learned from books so I could pass the tests they gave me to write. It wasn’t all that real to me. Oh, I was raised in a family that held all of it dear. They were, what is now viewed as the old fashioned republicans. The fought the liberalization of their country. The were vocal in their angst regarding the liberal movement away from the Constitution and the Declaration of Independence. But again it was a nebulousity. Something of only philosophical importance to my young and know it all mind. Suddenly I was being forced to make all of it real. I did not realize it at the time, but I was making a decision about how I was going to live my life. Was I to be just another person that accepted what others were willing to give me or would I be a person that defended others and fought to keep the American dream alive. Not that I ever thought about it like that at the time.
Well I made that decision after some time. I swore the oath and wore the uniform. For the first time I put others ahead of myself. My moral obligation had won out over my personal principles and as a result, that obligation became my highest held personal principle. The two were now one. Now, here I am, almost half a century later faced with a similar choice, but one that is just as important.
I fought the good fight. I vehemently opposed the Trump nomination run. I desperately wanted a constitutional conservative to make that run and God willing, win the white house. Trump was a very poor choice for that. Now I am faced with the dilemma of either lending my vote to this man I don’t really trust of of ceding the presidency to a woman I KNOW hates all that the constitution stands for. She is both a liar and a criminal and quite possibly a traitor in the very legal sense of that word. There are other choices on the ballot. The Libertarians have a good man the Constitution Party has a man that holds many of my beliefs. I can happily live with either in the oval office. The simple fact is that neither stands even the slightest chance of winning. The libertarians have never gotten beyond the one per cent vote level and the Constitution Party in a complete unknown to the voters. The only thing they can do is take votes away from the Republican and give the election to the Constitution and freedom destroying Liberals.
It comes down to this: I don’t like Trump. He is not a conservative, but he does espouse SOME conservative principles and he does appear genuine in hi desire to keep America from becoming an Islamic state. He does appear to be a man that will do his best to enforce the laws of our country, for the most part. Hillary, on the other hand scares the living Hell out of me. For so many reasons.
Again, the dilemma. Principles or moral obligation? Again, I am forced to choose my moral obligation to keep the traitor out of the White House. I will vote for Trump and put my principles aside for the good of the country.

One Reason Liberty is Dying in America

There was a time in this country when personal liberty was the key to the entire philosophy of the United States of America. That philosophy no longer pertains. I think I have found the major reason for that and I would like you to begin consider the ramifications as well as the cause.

It is reasonable to state that it really began to take hold in this country with Teddy Roosevelt, who told the nation during a July Fourth speech that we should ignore the preamble to the Declaration of Independence the very thing the Fourth of July, Independence Day as it used to be called, was celebrating. He was followed in the presidency by one Woodrow Wilson. Now he went a little further by declaring that the president had a “mandate” by virtue of the fact that he won the election, to be the “Leader and sole representative of the people.” In other words, he believed the President should be acknowledged as the Sovereign of the government. This has reached its ultimate goal in Barack H. Obama, our Sovereign.

OK, that is how it all started. How did we let it happen? Ahh, to paraphrase Shakespeare, there’s the rub.

This country was founded upon the principle of freedom that comes from the acceptance of responsibility. This thought is found in many forms in the founders explanation of the constitution, the Patriot Papers. Just what is this “acceptance of responsibility” that I find so important and why is it important?

The founders truly believed that freedom, while granted by God, would never be easy to maintain. There would be a cost and that cost would be the responsibility to work to keep it. How, you might well ask? It is very simple to put into words and, for some, so difficult to do. You must accept the responsibility for yourself. And and all of your actions. You must never allow others to absolve you of that responsibility. If you want material wealth, go out and earn it. If you want political freedom, fight to protect it even when your neighbor tells you that the government will do all of that for you. They won’t and never can.

The premier promulgator of “progressive philosophy” was a man named John Dewey, 1859-1952. Dr. Dewey published many things from books to scholarly papers espousing his philosophy. He believed that no person was ‘born free’. He had to be made that way and protected in that condition by government. The government must begin this process in a person’s very earliest stages of life with an education system that taught him how to think of government and his/her own position in the scheme of things. The must be taught that it is the government’s responsibility to assure that your “freedoms and equality” are protected. Does your neighbor have more land than you? The government is required to take some of that land and give it to you, his less fortunate (Read lazier) neighbor. The government must create equality since it does not exist in any natural state as the Declaration of Independence so beautifully states. It was his teachings that led to Teddy Roosevelt to tell the American people in an Independence Day, now simply the fourth of July, speech that we should just ignore the preamble to that seminal document of our nation.

Please don’t get the idea that progressive philosophy began with Dr. Dewey. That has been around for a long, long time. It has failed every time it has been tried, from late Rome to England prior to the Magna Carta in 1215. His educational philosophy was formulated while studying for his PhD at Johns Hopkins University, the original progressive University in this country.
So now we have intelligent, but under educated children and University Chancellors both decrying the first amendment and denying its practice on their campuses. We have a federal government attempting to criminalize dissent as in the scientific thought on the bogus climate change agenda of the current administration.

The reason Liberty is dying in America? Because the liberals and the progressives say that it must. For our own protection. I say to them … Please don’t protect me from myself! Please don’t protect me from my natural equality and require me to have your version of equality.

The Serious Ongoing Issues From This Campaign

That this has been a tempestuous campaign season is the one thing all agree upon. On the democratic side we have an avowed socialist with some pretty outlandish ideas about how this country should move forward. Just give everybody what they want and worry about paying for it at some later time. And then there is the now presumptive democrat nominee. The recently released report from Gowdy’s committee investigating the Benghazi Terrorist attack virtually accuses both Hillary Clinton and B. Obama of being complicit in the murder of four men in that town in Libya including the United States Ambassador. She has been shown to be a consistent, no make that constant, liar. Not even her lies are consistent. The democratic presumptive nominee has stated many things that show her contempt for the constitution. She s a self proclaimed “progressive” and denies being a liberal. The progressives believe that only professional politicians should have a voice in how we run our government. The people should vote and then shut up and let them handle everything. The vote is viewed as being a mandate to do so.

On the other side of the fence we have a rich business man that says what ever comes to mind at the moment then, likely as not reverses himself the next day that has become the Republican presumptive nominee. This man has never puled more than roughly 35% of the vote in his primaries. If all of the primaries had been awarding delegates on a proportional basis instead of the all or nothing rule of so many, he would not even be that. And now we have many that have decided to attempt to nullify even the primaries decision.

Carroll Boston “Beau” Correll, a district-level delegate to the 2016 Republican National Convention, filed a class action lawsuit on behalf of all the 49 Republican district delegates as well as the 110 Democrat delegates of Virginia. Correll firmly believes that Donald Trump is “unfit to serve” as President of the United States, and cannot bring himself to vote for Trump on the first ballot, or any subsequent ballots.  Correll filed the lawsuit in order to gain protection from any criminal charges since by not voting for Trump he will be in violation of Virginia state law, Section 545(D). Should this suit prevale, it would effectively nullify the Virginia primary results and give us 49 unbound delegates. That would also allow any other state’s delegates to file the same suit and prevail due to precedent law. Now there is a can of worms I am not sure we want to open.

Next we look at the divisiveness of the campaigns themselves. We had many factions at work this time. There were the populists supporting Trump- the constitutional conservatives supporting Cruz- the republican establishment supporting first Bush then Rubio- libertarians supporting Paul- a fraction of the conservatives behind Kasich- Social democrats following Sanders- the mainstream democrats pushing the Clinton campaign.

It has been a divisive and dirty campaign from day one. It has gotten even more so now that we have these “presumptive” winners. There was only one person that did not engage in the mud slinging- Senator Cruz. Even he got a little harsh when they attacked his wife. I, personally, can’t blame him for that.

Hillary has said so much that is simply and provably erroneous that she has lost much support due to that duplicity. Trump keeps changing his position on almost everything he has said The latest seems to be his backtracking on the exclusion of Muslim immigration. It now appears that he really didn’t mean ALL Muslims, just those that cannot be properly “vetted”. Who makes the call on what that word means he has not indicated. He has insulted Women, native Americans, blacks, Chinese, English and of course Muslims. OH. And anybody that disagrees with him. Going so far as to ask followers to “punch” one protester, offering to pay all legal fees for anyone that did.

OK you get the point. This campaign season has actually created a very large chasm in the body politic of our nation. It has gone a long way toward dividing our house against itself. Is there a solution that would work and is feasible? Many have been offered, but if you take a close look at them they each push a personal agenda also except for the “Can’t we all just get along?” crowd. Remember that word feasible? We have the “lets just follow the constitution” people. Probably the best one, yet it will never resonate with the “progressives”. They simply will not do that.

I do not have the answer. The only one that will work, I guess, is the Convention of States idea that terrifies the left so badly. The left calls it a “con-con. A Constitutional Convention to rewrite the constitution. It is not and never could be. Who actually believes that any state legislature would send commissioners to such a convention that would violate many laws passed by those same legislatures stating plainly that proposing amendments contrary to the topic of the convention would be a criminal or civil act and could land them in jail at worst, simply recalled and fired with prejudice at best. The main reason so many on the left fear this one is it proposes term limits which would fire all of the professionals in Government. Of Course there is also those amendments that would limit federal spending and limit the power of the federal government.

If you have a better solution to closing this chasm, please comment.

The Stupidity of the Impeach Now Movement

The Stupidity of the Impeach Now Movement

Why I have maintained that attempting to impeach the man in the White House is down right stupid is really simple; however, the explanation takes a little time as it involves education. Try to remember that a failure to convict on the articles of impeachment will render it impossible to do so at a later date., for any reason.

Impeachment is not a finding, it is an indictment. After the indictment comes the trail. Impeaching BOH would be easy. The house presents a Articles of Impeachemnt, the votes are counted and he is impeached. Then comes the problem. The trial. That is conducted in the Senate only and the judge is the Chief Justice of the Supreme Court as mandated in our constitution. Even Dirty Harry cannot refuse to hold that trial and the president can’t use an executive order to make it go away. He must be tried if the house impeaches, BUT, and it is a big but, as things stand now the senate would never vote to convict. So we wait. Thank goodness some of the politicians are being smart. Not too many I agree, but there are some.

If we can take control of the senate with just a few votes over a simple majority there MIGHT be a chance. Here is the full process and some comments on that process:

In the Senate

  • The Articles of Impeachment are received from the House.

  • The Senate formulates rules and procedures for holding a trial.

  • A trial will be held. The President will be represented by his lawyers. A select group of House members will serve as “prosecutors.” The Chief Justice of the Supreme Court (currently John G. Roberts) will preside with all 100 Senators acting as the jury.

  • The Senate will meet in private session to debate a verdict.

  • The Senate, in open session, will vote on a verdict. A 2/3 vote of the Senate will result in a conviction. (note: 67 senators have to vote for conviction)

  • The Senate will vote to remove the President from office.

  • The Senate may also vote (by a simple majority) to prohibit the President from holding any public office in the future.

Impeachable Offenses

Article II, Section 4 of the Constitution says, “The President, Vice President and all civil Officers of the United States, shall be removed from Office on Impeachment for, and Conviction of, Treason, Bribery, or other high Crimes and Misdemeanors.” In his report, Independent Counsel, Starr accuses President Clinton of committing eleven acts for which he could be removed from office by impeachment. Are any of those acts “Treason, Bribery, or other High Crimes and Misdemeanors?” Well, that’s up to the members of the House of Representatives. According to constitutional lawyers, “High Crimes and Misdemeanors” are (1) real criminality — breaking a law; (2) abuses of power; (3) “violation of public trust” as defined by Alexander Hamilton in the Federalist Papers. In 1970, then Representative Gerald R. Ford defined impeachable offenses as “whatever a majority of the House of Representatives considers it to be at a given moment in history.” An excellent definition, Mr. Former President. In the past, Congress has issued Articles of Impeachment for acts in three general categories:

  • Behavior grossly incompatible with the proper function and purpose of the office.

  • Employing the power of the office for an improper purpose or for personal gain.

There are obvious land mines in this process. One of those is when the senate retires to consider it’s verdict. The prosecuting attorneys are excluded because they are not senators. How about the defense attorneys? Any defense attorney, selected by the president remember, that is a member of the senate is going to be part of that closed session. Just one reason it has never resulted in conviction. Then there is the seeming fact that one of the things a person serving a full term in the senate seems to misplace is his, or her, conscience. It just seems to get lost, somehow.

So what do we need to impeach and convict this usurper? It appears that we need about 56 conservatives to be elected to the senate. I don’t see that happening, do you? However let is be positive. The next session of congress is convened and Dirty Harry is relegated to senate minority leader. The conservatives and the swell of grass roots conservatism convinces a few more liberals that their interest in power is best served by getting BOH out of the White House. Just might happen. Sure can’t happen as things stand now.

Problems and Solutions Part Two

Problems and Solutions

Part Two

My last post attempted to define some of the solutions to this country’s multifarious problems. I made a half hearted attempt to define some of the problems and ran out of steam after just mentioning the current administration and his minions in the senate. I usually get angry at my country for allowing this turn of events that is destroying the country I grew up in and fought for in wars some didn’t even know were happening. That is why I stopped with the causes of our problems without delineating the problems themselves. Many know the problems while others will never admit to them. Flagrant violations of our nations patently great Constitution. We are in a country the writers and founders of that constitution never foresaw, indeed could not foresee. In that light I have decided not to attempt such delineations other than to point out a president that has ”a phone and a pen” so he doesn’t need a congress to rule his kingdom. Let us therefore move onto the last two of the four solutions we were discussing.

Next on our list is the most nefarious. The Constitutional Convention. This is the ideal solution to people like George Soros and the ultra liberal in our land. You see a Constitutional Convention is called with the intent of writing a entirely new constitution. These ultra liberals are so intent on not having an Article V convention called that they are willfully stating that the Article V is indeed a constitutional convention capable of rewriting the constitution. Folks that just isn’t so. In point of fact, an Article V Convention cannot rewrite the constitution.

However, ‘They’ would like to see more constitutional power in the executive branch. My father had a saying that he felt defined the American Dream. “Your rights end at the beginning of my nose.” What he meant by that is simple. In his domain, house, property, business, whatever, you had no rights he didn’t grant you. Who is the ‘you”? Any entity from a single human being to a government. If he had a wife and kids those rights automatically extended to them. The same for his neighbors and their neighbors. Should he choose to own a gun, that was no one’s business but his and his family. If that family decided they liked a certain Dr. that too was their business and no one had the right to interfere with that relationship. In order to protect those rights we relied on the Constitution. We relied on a government that was established specifically to protect the rights of the individual, not to enhance the power of tyrant wannabes. The government’s job used to be to protect me from you! If you tried to use your gun or your fist or your baseball bat against me, the government was supposed to punish you for that. Now expand that ‘you ; to nations or states or simply mobs. They were supposed to regulate interstate commerce, not intrastate. That clause in the Constitution was and is intended for the purpose of facilitating commerce, not to control it.

OK. I hope you get the idea. Our constitution certainly needs to be ‘tweeked’ a little in the light of the omnipresent evil in present day politicians, but it does NOT need to be scrapped. We neither want nor need a new constitution.

The brings us to the last of the possible solutions. The Article V Constitutional Convention. The first thing you should noticed is that it is an Article V measure, taken directly from our Constitution.  It is a measure provided for us by our founding fathers to protect us from that which they could not imagine, but feared in their unknown future.

Their next problem was to prevent what has become known as a run away convention. They did this in several ways. The first was the one state one vote rule. If you look at the way national elections are won you must look at the populations of the various states. New York, California, Florida, Ohio, etc. They carry the national elections. Not the majority of the states by any means. The majority of states in our union are conservative. Look at one of the media networks political maps. So one state one vote. California has no more power in an Article V Convention of States than Rhode Island.

The next was the so called super majority idea. Two thirds of the states or 34, must agree on the same enacted law to call for the convention before it can happen. Once the convention has been called any amendment that falls within the topic of the laws used to call that convention may be debated. In other words if the convention is called to limit the power of the federal government, rein in the fiscal abilities of both congress and the executive branch, and limit terms of federal officials such as congress and the judiciary are fair game. However, let’s say an amendment that would limit the authority of the states such as say abortion or marriage, those would have to be denied by the convention. So what are some of these tweeks? Take a look at a small amendment to the Welfare Clause. If you add a phrase similar to this: “If the states can spend money on it the Federal government is prohibited from doing so” then things like Obamare are gone. Legalizing homosexual or polygamous marriage? Gone with the repeal of the 14th amendment. That is up to the states.

And now this decision is not up to the states. It is up to you.

Bad Time To Impeach

The Tea Party wants to impeach Obama now.  I don’t think that is wise, either for the Tea Party or America and I will try to explain in simple language.

I will begin by saying that he is in deed guilty of several impeachable offences and the American people really need to get him out of office.  BUT.  Now is not the time.  The house could pass a Bill of Impeachment.  The senate would not run a real trial and he would stay in office.

Consider the impeachment as proposed.  If, by some miracle the senate should act in a just manner, something it hasn’t done in over four years, we would end up with a nitwit for president anyway.  Do you really want Biden to run the executive branch?  When we do it we should get both of them at the same time.

A failed impeachment would bring out more liberal and deceased voters in 2014 by an enraged or scared Democratic party.

A failed impeachment proceeding would further split the country and degrade the Tea Party’s advances in the past couple of years.  Probably to a greater extent that the Clinton impeachment proceedings did. We need the Tea Party to continue to gain influence, folks.  It is important.

Ok then, if not now, when?  After the 2014 elections.  We have a n admittedly small chance to take back the senate while maintaining our majority in the house.  (That alone would jolt some of those RINOS out there)  If we do that we might just succeed in an impeachment attempt.  I would still urge careful thought in how that Bill of Impeachment is worded, but even if we don’t pick up more than a seat or two in the senate, I still believe that would be the time to draft it.  We would have nothing to lose at that point and there is a really long shot hope of success.  Miniscule, but extant.

For this moment it is my considered opinion that the current push to impeach Obama at any cost is both poorly conceived and badly timed.

I am going to append this short missive with what I feel, are the salient crimes our fraudulent President has perpetrated on the American people and its constitution.

Let’s look at just some of his crimes.  This a rather long list of them as proposed by the Republican Black Caucus. I agree with every one of them and I believe you will too.

How the Tea Party Will Lose The 2014 Election

How the Tea Party Will Lose The 2014 Election

Yes, I do believe that conservatives will wake up in November 2014 to find that they have lost the senate and maybe the house; though I will admit we just might retain the house.  Maybe.

All because there really is no Tea Party.  There are the Tea Parties, plural and they don’t talk to each other.  They each have their own agenda.  They don’t even agree on their basic tenets.  There is the “Tea Party Patriots” with a web site here that states their mission as being simply …to restore America’s founding principles of Fiscal Responsibility, Constitutionally Limited Government and Free Markets.

Then there is the Tea Party Command Center with a web site here with 15 ‘basic tenets’.

And of course the Tea Party express with six points in their mission statement.  Their web site is here.

On each page if you want to see their mission statements for yourself just click on the ‘about’ link at the top of their home pages.

There are others but I think you get the point.  Each of these has their own agenda and each goes after their own political ogres.  And I am sure each will have their own favorite candidates to endorse.  There is no focus within this hodgepodge of political theologies.  They can’t even focus enough to get very detrimental Presidential appointees disapproved!  Thomas Perez as Secretary of Labor???  WOW.  If he has his way, forced unionism will be a federal law that will supposedly override any and all state laws, the tenth amendment not-with-standing.  How about Obama’s socialist bed mate Kathleen Sebelius as Secretary of Health and Human Services overseeing the dreaded Obamacare.

Ok.  OK.  I’ll get back to the point.

With this much diversity among the so called Tea Parties, they accomplish nothing.  The speaker of the house, a republican in name only (RINO) is touting the immigration reform acts as they come down from his new bosses in the senate.  Who would have thought that a Speaker would go on national TV and call himself a “facilitator”.  Gee I thought he was supposed to be the Leader of the majority party.  I guess with the mind set of our esteemed politicians that just ain’t true anymore.  He has other leadership issues and broken promises, but I said I would try to get back to the point of this blog.

The next point about the fractious Tea Parties is the local organizations.  They, for the most part, are far from local in their focus.  They want to be on the main stage so they go after national issues.  The Tea Party in my own county even refuses to endorse candidates for public offices claiming that they are ‘educational and therefore can’t do that.  I have some news for them.  There are basically only two entities that can’t endorse political candidates.  Any registered religious group due to the separation of church and state and any organization that receives the bulk of their funding from the tax payers such as PUBLIC schools.  Private non religious educational organizations that don’t receive funding from the tax payers are completely free to do so.  The local groups really need to focus on getting local issues made into laws.  Want to take back the senate?  Get behind a good conservative candidate and PUSH!  Want to stop the amnesty?  Deluge your own states senators and representatives with faxes, phone calls and letters telling them to represent their constituents.  Now there’s a revolutionary idea.  An elected representative representing.   I would like to start a new Tea Party in my county.  One dedicated to the two items of interest to our population.  Political education of the issues of local interest and the backing of conservative candidates.  We might call it the Local Tea Party, or some such.

It is up to us, the people that provide the Tea Party leaders with their incomes to make our individual voices heard and demand and accounting.  Why can’t they sit down with the leaders of all of the national Tea Parties and work out a concerted effort on one or two issues and a bunch of national conservative candidates then FOCUS or lose yet another election and perhaps an entire nation.  Let’s face it folks, WE THE PEOPLE pay these people too and they should reflect our needs not their own.
